The Reverend Ross Tortora

The Reverend Ross Tortora was ordained a Deacon on August 15, 2020, at Grace Church Cathedral. Ross was born and raised in Massachusetts, where he taught and coached for 36 years in public education. He and his wife, Judy, lived in Duxbury where they raised their two sons. While in the Boston area, he was a member of Trinity Church Boston, Copley Square, and was involved in the Disciples of Christ in Community program.
Ross and Judy retired to Chapel Hill, NC, where they attended The Chapel of the Cross, Episcopal Church. While attending COTC, Ross participated in a weekly Contemplative Prayer group. After a number of years there Ross and Judy decided to move to Charleston.
For the past seven years Ross has been a member of Grace Church Cathedral. During this time he graduated from the Education for Ministry program and served as an Adult Acolyte, Lector, and Chalice Bearer. He has been a member of the Vestry where he served as the Vestry liaison for worship. In addition, Ross is a member of the Grace Church Cathedral Kairos Team, Fresh Start: Men In Transition Program, and the “Reading with Grace” program at Memminger Elementary School.
